Sustainable Companies, also referred to as Sustainable Business or Green Companies are when a business chooses to practice sustainable business, green practices and environmentally friendly policies. It does not necessarily mean they produce a sustainable product. Corporate Knights Inc and Innovest Strategic Value Advisors publish an annual list of the 100 most sustainable companies in the world which includes companies from 15 countries encompassing all industry sectors. |

Sustainable companies are evaluated according to how effectively they managed environmental, social and governance risks and opportunities relative to their industry peers.
The list of companies below do not necessarily mean they are 100% sustainable companies, like some of the green companies who are completely green and sustainable from product manufacture to office practices. Their profits however, certainly make them sustainable even in times of recession.
